About Morah Kimi
Our Shabbat Youth Programming is led each week by Youth Director, Kimberly "Kimi" Newmark.
Kimi Newmark has been teaching and empowering students to help them reach their social, emotional, and academic potential for over 25 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and is teacher certified in Special Education (K-12) by the states of Ohio and New Jersey. In addition, she holds a certificate as a Wilson Reading Specialist with extensive knowledge in the Orton Gillingham practices for multi-sensory reading strategies. Kimi has taught in both public and private schools in the areas of reading, writing, math and judaic studies. She is currently working as a lead intervention specialist for A+ Solutions. For over 20 years, Kimi was director of the early childhood summer program at Camp Stone. Her role included designing and implementing Jewish experiential lessons and activities for children between the ages of 2-8 years old and leading in the development of over 100 young adult staff members throughout those years. With high energy, enthusiasm and a friendly disposition, Kimi has always emphasized the importance of building confidence in both her staff and students by providing opportunities for growth and success. Kimi lives in Beachwood, Ohio with her husband, Harry. They have five grown children living throughout the U.S. and Israel. Along with her passion for teaching, Kim enjoys walking her dog, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Tot Shabbat
Tot Shabbat started in 2019 under the guidance of Caroline Goldman. After four years, our Tot Shabbat program has grown to include over 25 families who bring their babies and toddlers for an engaging age appropriate Shabbat experience. Tot Shabbat also provides a wonderful opportunity for new families to make friends and get to know Green Road Synagogue.
Please remember that the cut-off age for the Kaytana Minyan- (Ellie Silber’s group) is 4 years old bySeptember 1st, 2022. Any children that turn 4 after that date are invited to join the Tot Shabbat program with their parents and act as role models for the younger children.
